About Potomac Glen

The tradition of Potomac Glen Riding School has been part. of the Montgomery County horse community since 1963. 

Originally we were located on South Glen & Norton Roads in Potomac, Maryland.  We relocated in to Clarksburg, Maryland  in 2001. At our new location we expanded our original  junior rider program to a   program which  included adults. 

 Potomac Glen is a small community riding school and we welcome  every one who wants to learn to ride. We offer beginning lessons for all ages.  We accept riders from different disciplines and much of our instruction is centered around safe and competent pleasure riding  in the ring and on the trail.  We  heartedly welcome  adult riders who are returning to riding after some  time away and who needed a quite and supportive place to try to re-connect with their love of horses and try riding again. 

Susan Hansen (Certified HSA Clinician '98, CHA Master'79, EGALA Certified '02) is Potomac Glen's  Owner, Trainer and Master Riding Instructor. She has been coaching equestrians in Montgomery County since 1973.

From Bethesda & Potomac

• Take Exit # 18, Boyds/Clarksburg, Rte. 121. (CLARKSBURG RD.)
• FROM Rte. 270 or Rte. 355, drive North-East, 1 ½ miles ON Rte. 121
• OUR WELL-MARKED DRIVEWAY WILL BE ON THE RIGHT. A red post with the number's 24201 and a bright red tub of flowers mark our driveway.

From Frederick 
about 15 minutes!

• Drive South on Rte. 270 
• Take Exit # 18, Boyds/Clarksburg, Rte. 121. ( CLARKSBURG RD.)
• FROM Rte. 270 or Rte. 355, drive North-East, 1 ½ miles ON Rte. 121

From DC & Georgetown or zoo area  
about 35 minutes!

• Drive Rte. 495  to North on Rte. 270 
• Take Exit # 18, Boyds/Clarksburg, Rte. 121. ( CLARKSBURG RD.)
• FROM Rte. 270 or Rte. 355, drive North-East, 1 ½ miles ON Rte. 121

From Northern Virginia  
about 45 minutes!

• Drive Rte. 495  to North on Rte. 270

We border Little Bennett Regional Park with miles of trails. Up the block is the Newest Montgomery County Golf Course. We are 3 miles from all the new shopping & theaters in Germantown.
