bulletWe have scheduled our riding classes so that our riders have time with their horses before and after class. Please arrive a few minutes before class time. All riders, especially W/T/C riders and riders lessoning in hot weather, will be expected to stay after class to walk-out & care for their horse. Please plan on up to 30 minutes of horse-care after class.

Required Safety Equipment and Clothing

Our goal is a 100% safe ride, every time!

The clothing and safety gear used for riding is designed for the safety and comfort of the rider. We require that you use the proper clothing and safety equipment when participating in riding lessons at our facility.

If you are not sure about the clothing & safety equipment used for riding, please ask. We will show you examples and give you names, locations & phone numbers of local stores where you can purchase the necessary equestrian equipment.

bulletAn ASTM/SEI Certified Riding Helmet MUST BE USED FOR SAFETY AND INSURANCE PURPOSES.
bulletAn Equestrian Safety Vest is required equipment for all our riders, in mounted lessons above Short stirrup level. You are required to bring your vest to every ride. Your vest should be snug, form fitting & comfortable.
bulletEnglish Riding Foot wear such as paddock boots or high field boots are part of the required safety equipment. These specialized boots provide foot protection when working around horses and these boots allow for quick stirrup release in emergencies and when dismounting. Hard-soled shoes or boots with little or no tread & a ½" defined heel are fine.
bulletNo Sneakers, including riding sneakers, any time.
bulletBreeches, riding tights or jodhpurs are the best leg protectors for riders. These clothes do not bind or rub to create blisters & chaffing. It is acceptable to wear comfortably fitting, non-restricting jeans.
bulletFitted upper body wear, short ski jackets, small sweat shirts & sweaters may be worn under or over your safety vest. Layer for warmth & protection. Be able to tuck shirts into pants. Loose baggy shirts & pants are a safety hazard & must be avoided.
bulletLeave jewelry, bangles, hoops, necklaces, & dangling earrings at home. Stud earrings & watches are OK.

The use of safety equipment is for protection of all riders, as well as the protection our horses & our instructors. If you are not wearing the required safety equipment, you will not be mounted for class.

The right place to ride should leave you feeling safe, confident, & enjoying Equestrian Sports!
